Free parent counselling as part of the Parent-Child Pass Scheme

Since September 2023, the Austrian family counselling centres have been offering free parent counselling sessions as part of the Parent-Child Pass Scheme (until 31 December 2023 known as the Mother-Child Pass Scheme).

Expectant mothers and fathers can benefit from this joint counselling and prepare for their new day-to-day family life in the family counselling centres supported by the Federal Chancellery.

Our skilled family counsellors provide extensive information about various topics including:

  • financial services related to the birth,
  • fair division of parental leave,
  • various parental leave models,
  • parental part-time work,
  • returning to the workplace,
  • pension splitting,
  • being a parent,
  • raising a child and
  • conflict management

Individual concerns and worries about the new phase of life can also be discussed.

As an expectant parent, you can use the 50-minute counselling session to clarify any questions you have and get support. To find participating family counselling centres, you can use the "Find counselling centers" function and use the “Parent counselling as part of the Parent-Child Pass Scheme” filter.

Information about the other Parent-Child Pass Scheme services (until 31 December 2023 known as the Mother-Child Pass Scheme) can be found on the website of the Austrian public health portal.
